What affects compatibility
Not every camera is suitable for every AI use case. During onboarding we assess your specific setup against these seven factors to confirm compatibility and set accurate expectations.
A minimum of 1080p (Full HD) is recommended for accurate AI detection. Lower resolutions may reduce detection accuracy depending on the use case.
The camera must have a clear, unobstructed view of the area being monitored. Angle, height, and field of view are assessed during setup.
A minimum of 10–15 FPS is required for reliable motion-based detection. Higher FPS improves accuracy for fast-moving subjects.
The camera or NVR stream must be accessible on the local network or via a secure tunnel. Locked or proprietary-only streams may limit connectivity.
Adequate lighting is required for AI detection to function reliably. Low-light cameras with IR or WDR support are recommended for dark environments.
H.264 and H.265 are fully supported. Proprietary or non-standard codecs may require transcoding before connection.
Sufficient local network bandwidth is needed to carry streams to the edge processing unit without dropping frames.
